Ah well, it was worth a shot!

A bit of info for prospective Minelab buyers who live outside the 5 regions Kellyco are allowed to ship to: get a friend in the US to take delivery of it and ship the machine to you. I've written to Minelab about this exact scenario and they've replied that as long as the warranty is in your name, you can get repairs from either the Chicago of Adelaide service centers.
This is a bit more troublesome route, but if you've seen how much an X-Terra 705 costs over here, you'd probably find that the bit of extra effort saves you some serious money.
