I agree, it's an old English Penny.   I used to have a large number of them, as a kid, in my " Coins and Currency of the World" collection.   Where they all are now, is another sad story of my life.... Violent

Below are Brit pennies as you can see the monarch is not "robed or wearing a crown" the reverse side of the coin should tell you which country it came from.
