I found this gold koban with a metal detector in Japan. This is not my first one. I have others. Lots of great places to search and no competition here.

Congratulations on a great find, Prinzjay! The Koban is one of the most beautiful coins ever minted in Japan and you're holding several thousand $ in your hand. Photos are a little fuzzy, but it looks like a Gembun Koban. Wonderful!

Really nice find! Where in Japan, I was stationed in Okinawa for three years, their were places they wouldnt let us swim still because their is still a lot of unexsploded ordinance!
