I'm thinking we need to see what smoked it.   Can you provide a photo of the whole board top and bottom?    GD's right about using a Off Board Transformer.

The transformer and board looks exactly like one I once had in a home I owned. Lightning struck the power line and fried the whole board. It was covered by insurance thank goodness. The garage door opener repairman just ordered the part. IT is part 19 on page 38. Comes with the whole front panel.

Thanks again, GD, Homie, Nickel_n and golddustcarl. a lot of good information coming in. I think I will chicken-out and go for the whole logic assembly, found one on flea-bay for roughly $30. I think that the off board transformer is more than I want to invest in time (GD called it...skill set, you know)

OK well I was going to suggest re-winding it your self if you could not find a replacement part but if you found a board for 30$ I guess that you wont want to go though all the hassle.
