TCP/IP is tricky as an interface both from the wiring standpoint and the drivers. If you are using a router, you connect directly to the device from your network port. If not, you need a crossover cable. Normally these are red, orange or yellow versus the normal blue color and are labeled specifically as crossover cables. Even after you are sure that you have the right cable, you will also need correct drivers to recognize the detector.

Since I don't have one, the advice I am giving here is from the TCP/IP reference point only. Your detector may actually have its own proprietary cable making matters even more tricky. Your best bet is a phone call to the manufacturer asking advice.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

well, we tried, looks like im gonna send it off tomarrow. the "DB" USA is a great unit, I have had this one for almost a year. talking to the tech we tried it all. problem may have been caused by a powerfull magnet i had in my car i used to retreive objects from old wells.  Violent . I have seen a lot of interest in the accurate locator fluxgate magnetometer and as an owner of the double magnum I can say it is worth purchasing. one of my uses for this unit is old privys. bottle collecting. save a lot of time. I am also working with land owners concerming Caddo indians in texas. and The Texas historical commission and well lets see what the future holds as i venture into the commercial side. there is more than finding gold with this unit. dont get me wrong the plans are on the table for a trip to northern california, and possible Alaska.  Rider
