Just wondering, each unit has one trim pot on the pcb board, what do they adjust. I'm thinking gb or gb threshold. any ideas guys?
I wana get some extra sensitivity (depth) from my units without realy messing something up. thanks in advance for any info.

If you want some good advice just looking at it is a mistake. One trim pot could be used for many different applications like balancing an op-amp or setting a specific voltage it could be for an off set, hell without the schematics and an oscilloscope you are really looking for problems. Ho did I mention years of experience? If you want more deapth get a new detector and sell this one as is.

Xavier

Sensitivity and depth are not the same thing at all. Sensitivity adjusts your AUDIO sensitivity not your coil sensitivity.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

ok, just because I tweaked it alittle bit and got about a extra inch air testing on both units, ids were the same, no noticeable gb difference, no higher chattering or anything, just seemed to boost tx or rx power maybe. or yea sensitivity as to where I can hear the say quarter at 12 inches apposed to 11 inches air testing. so thanks for reply's and if anyone else has info I would appreciate it.
thanks,
nick

Then why do you ask if you have already done it? just say this is what i did and this is the result, I'm just wondering how well it will perform in the wet.

So all is well!  You got Lucky!    You could have burned out a Op Amp or more buy your playing.

Your actions had nothing to do with the Power going into the Coil.

Like Most all VLF detectors yours uses a Colpietts Oscillator on the TX front end.

You may have changed the Gain on the Rx side, Changed the GB from Factory Set, or what ever but what you did was taking more then Loose Chances.

Since it wasn't labeled and you got a change, it means it is probably a frequency tuning pot. Now you may have gained a little on the coin or object you were testing but you probably lost on some other item. That's the way of these things. I will guarantee you that you didn't "increase power" in any way. That's not possible with just one adjustment. You might have made your machine less efficient overall. There's an old rule of thumb in electronics. "If you don't know what it does, don't mess with it."

Ok after some testing outside. The pot for sure is the gb threshold.  Thays why I gained air testing.because I used default power on. When I went outside and ground grabbed it was 85 instead of the 60's. That is the difference. So set it all back to factory location. All is good. Thank you fellas

As we use to say in the work shop.
If everything else fail RTFM (Read The …..Manual)
Or in your case restore factory settings
