G Day everyone, A few months back my Whites Bullseye II was heading south real fast (stuffed),
anyway I took it apart by removing only the 4 screws (one on each corner) so dont touch the one
one the probe,
Well I tried switch cleaners, switch lubrecants, WD40 and nothing worked, I had froze my fingers using
switch cleaner all to no avail,
Last night I remembered back when I use to build Hot Rod motors that I use to use unleaded fuel to
clean engine parts because it leaves no residue,
And so I got to taking the Bullseye apart for just one more look and then I saw a can of lighter fluid
on the shelf so seeing as the probe was stuffed I thought what the heck so I dripped some of the fluid
on to the little black button area of the on/off switch and then I put some of it on the switch body and
when i touched the button it started to work, so I did it again and then it started working properly
now so i put it back together and it is as good as new,
That probe is 4 1/2 years old and it stopped working about 2 months ago, and I used a new one Whites
sent to me for an article i wrote so now i can put that one away and use ole faithful
Bottom line is dont through out your probes just cause the switches are faulty,
Just clean the switch with that cheaper brand of Lighter fluid that you put in your Zippo lighters
and it will work better than ever, Good luck and I hope this helps
