It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

i think the discrimination is not good.
if you go over a setting of 19 it becomes unstabile en gives all sorts of sounds no matter what mode your in.
even with the sensivity reduced at 50 or 55.
i think the Teknetics T2 is better with the discrimination, here the "boost" comes in when you set the disc over 40
i think the "boost" of the F75 must only work in the JE mode and not in the other modes.

also deep large iron gives a hi reading, 98-99, in my opinion it must give a low reading, i have being digging some realy large holes to find (empty) beercans.
it is giving me a sweaty arscrack Cheesy

or maybe i am doing something wrong?

No it's not you or the it is normal for some machines to give you a plus 80s --plus90s on big or solid iron thats a sign that you
might have the gain/sensitivity up to high, my machines do it if i get power hungry but i have heard about the f75 gettin a likeing
for iron when it's in the infested sites, but also they are on their 5th circuit board???
the f75 with the 15x12 coil is a powerful set up, Also it is a very sensitive machine with a very fast recovery, but if you want to run
it so high on the gain maybe you might want to just slow down from you're normal sweep speed, and see how you get on
also phone fisher and ask them if they will up grade your machine to the f75 LTD specs

i did reset the machine en kept the gain low at 50, disc on 27, mode DE and it works fine.
found some coins 1600-1800, some lead bullets and a nice brass bell today.

Hi Weazle your f75 has a meter on it that measures the ground mineralization if the reading is high then you should turn down
your gain with a high gain it's the same as driving in fog with your head lights on high beam and the brighter the light the harder
it is to see, well i'm pleased it worked. Now try some air tests , turn the machine right up and wave a coin in front of it anturn it
down at 5 steps at a time, So if you've got it set at 100  go to 95 then to 90 then to 85 and keep going until you get as close to
zero, But every time you turn it down measure the distance that it picks up the coin at, this test will show you how little you
loose when you turn it down,
This is one thing air tests are good for and you can also work out the shape of the coils field
