Welcome from New Mexico.

Try Pins 2,3 and 4.

If no continuity, U have a Open.   Angry

I dought the Coil could be repaired unless it's in the connector.

Did you open the connector?

Maybe a wire off?

Pins 1,2 are Tx coil. Pins 3,4 are Rx coil. Like Homefire suggested, check your connector wiring. You can open it with a screwdriver and inspect it for broken connections. That's the most likely area for a problem. The next most likely area is where the wire goes into the coil head itself. If you can get someone to flex that while you read the pins, you can see if that is the area of the fault. If it is, you can repair it but it can be difficult.

There are ways to fix this, you know. Did you look at the wires inside the connector?

Pin 1 is ground, the other 3 I'm not sure . Is pin 3 common for the transmit and receive.??
Thanks
Greg

Remember elementary school physics lessons: connect a microampermeter to every coil winding and move a strong magnet above the coil. If you get a response, particular winding should be all right. Coil resistance itself says nothing about coil functionality.

Coil resistance in this case tells if the wire is open or not. This is the first issue to resolve.

Greg, you are in the US so give Garrett a call and ask them for advice. They really don't care if you have opened a 25 year old coil to troubleshoot it. They'll help you along. One fellow here did that a few years ago and they sent him a brand new coil for postage only for a long ago discontinued model. The good will effect will have you purchasing a Garrett next time. These are genuinely nice folks. Call them.
