Go Up Go Down

Hello. I'm starting to make my own wires and battery systems for my Minelabs and for my friends. Anyone here have any
insight into this. Mistakes that can be made or otherwise tips?  I found the connectors and am
looking for the right wire now. Also, I don't get the battery dealio. I mean, for example, I'm
making a battery for the 3500. I found the battery, sans the dome top part. I see how I can
put in the plug for the power cable and one for the headphones. But, where does that
headphones jack plug into?  Must go straight to one of the pins right?  Any help would
be great. This is a new thing for me.

Hi Whitster,

From memory, the power supply is the two pins either side of the guide indentation, the other two are obviously audio.

NOTE: I suggest you use a multimeter to confirm the power + and - while the original cable is plugged into the original battery, and when you make the new cable, make sure both plugs are wired correctly (it's very easy to reverse the wiring), by using the multimeter before you connect to the detector. You've invested a few bucks in that 3500, don't risk damaging it, make sure you do it right.

Hi You can get the connectors on Ebay for the GPX 5 pin minelabs. The connectors for the GP and SD 4 pin you can get at radio shack.
On the GP and SD the wires looking from the back wire side with the notch at the top the top one on the left is power +. The top one on the right is neg -
bottom left is speaker +. bottom right is speaker - neg.
Hope this helps. If you need the wiring for the GPX 5 pin plug let me know.
Ken
