TCP/IP is tricky as an interface both from the wiring standpoint and the drivers. If you are using a router, you connect directly to the device from your network port. If not, you need a crossover cable. Normally these are red, orange or yellow versus the normal blue color and are labeled specifically as crossover cables. Even after you are sure that you have the right cable, you will also need correct drivers to recognize the detector.
Since I don't have one, the advice I am giving here is from the TCP/IP reference point only. Your detector may actually have its own proprietary cable making matters even more tricky. Your best bet is a phone call to the manufacturer asking advice.
