Aloha everyone,

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.  I'm interested in making my own Surf PI detector like i see some people make.  What are some good resources for learning electronics, making coils that one can find?  Also any recommendations as to what a beginning electronics person needs to read before even attempting to make a detector?  Any info really would help.

Thanks in advance,

Ken

Hello Ken . I apologize that no one has answered you since May 27th . I was off the forum for several weeks . I am ready to give you some information but you also need to keep posting on this forum , please "Be Persistent" . Keep coming back !! There are Electronic kits and tutorials available all over the web to get you started . Then you add that together with a great Metal Detector project from our forum , you will have that surf PI machine you want , You can do it !!

Do you have Fry's electronics or something similar in Hawaii ? Let us know !!

HH...........Eugene

Hi Ken,

Eugene and Paul,

I can't believe it, but after reading your links, I'm seriously thinking about trying this myself (of course, knowing how long it takes me to complete projects, I doubt if I'll be using the detector anytime soon).    Ken, thanks for asking about this.

BA
