Go Up Go Down

I got a email Saturday to help someone on here that was buiding a TGSL "Golden Sabre" so  I was looking at old original schematics from a long time ago and comparing to New schematics that have part changes and omissions [missing parts] . Schematics are changed when a error is found that is good !!

But changing / substituting a part due to availibility in a certain country or being cheap due to part cost , that is wrong !!!
Then the schematic gets changed and then there is a problem !!!

I noticed on the Golden sabre that 2 diodes and a TIS75 is completely missing on the TX circuit and 2n2222 was going to pin 2 of CD4024 . Why was this changed . I will not mention names , but these light version or conversions have problems .

Make sure you do not omit anything , and make sure you use a 100 % correct Subsitution !!  These sabre lights and Musketeer lights and even Pulse Induction circuits that are downsized is not right !!!

We must go back to Originals when building projects , we are getting way off track here !!

I am checking why they would take out the TIS75 and 2 diodes on transmit circuit the resistors and capacitors were kept pretty close ?  It has a purpose !!!  Why get rid of it ? I posted 2 schematics to compare , sorry the old one with German writting is fuzzy but you can see some important parts are missing !!  I believe this happened on on some fisher schematics were they omited some notch 2 circuits also !!

Best Regards..............Eugene

Hooray at last someone that understands why I'm skeptic of building detectors from supposed to be "adapted" schematics. I normally end up having to debug the darn thing and sometimes I just dump it. Thanks for that original schematic Eugene I only wish that I could have a nice clear one.

If you want the Original you need to use all Original.  Transistors can be swapped out because more then a few do the same or better.

yes and some are just not available any more but I never could figure out why caps and diodes were removed.

Another thing that gets to me is having people tell you what a great machine it is then they start to change all sorts of thing, this just doesn't make any sense to me.

Eugene when it tells you that the file extension is not excepted just make it in a Zip file then it will post OK

This one is from the TGSL, I built this machine but added the two tone mod to it and I've also been having some issues with it. I changed the transistors because I could not find the J 107 but I see that on the IGSL from Ivconic uses a 4066 instead.

Cheesy Now that looks like a great place you have there, bet you can even practice on your panning there too. Like the workbench and it looks like you have got it busy already.
