Thanks, Luc! This one looks very interesting. They use an air core coil wrapped around foam. I wonder how a ferrite core coil would work.

Time to build one to play around with.

Hi cuirava

Exactly the Pin-pointer is  used to precisely locate the detected object before digging but also while the hole is formed.The detection surface is smaller compared to the detector coil, it is therefore more easily locate the target.

thanks luc,Like to provide a link for a new adventure park in chihuahua mexico ,I am not involved but if enough interest I offer to arrenge a tour its also a train ride from Chih to mochis sinaloa the canyon system is 4 times bigger than the grand canyon, the park it just open about a month ago.
