Why do you want to change anything inside it ,minelab have set up that machine to acheive the best alround results and they know more about it than all of us put together, I'm not sure why you would think any differant, it is their design , their research and that is the end product, you can't make it into something it's not ment to be, If you do change something it will have an effect somewhere else within the electronics which could cost you , either the machine being unrelieable or worse, i'd leave it alone and just enjoy it for what it is, good luck ,J

If you are asking why it was re-calibrated, the answer is simple. The machine was set to your soil conditions in Italy. This is far different from the conditions here in Australia where Minelab machines are tested.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

As that machine is made in Australia they have very high ground mineralization, the volcanic based ground in your area should be compatable with that machine, the sovereign will adjust it's ground balance depending where you set the sensitivity,if you cant get good depth out of the sovereign then try turning down the sensitivity and it will let the machine see better into the ground, if you turn up the sensitivity too high it will confuse the signal and the detector will not work properly, it works differantly to any other machine don't be scared to turn it down, trust the machine .
