Out of curiosity i was wondering if y'all have any TGSL DD coils you'd like to sell me. I could make my own, but I don't have any test equipment PERIOD. I did download the sweep oscillator program and will use it if i decide to go with making my own and trying to null it. Just wondering if anyone has an extra just laying around waiting for me to buy it!  Grin

I searched the Marketplace with no luck. I don't feel like buying one from an online store for over 100 bucks either. Cheapskate here..   Tongue
Thanks

Out of the same curiosity, why do you think you need test equipment to make one? It's handy but surely not essential.

Everything I've read pretty much said I should use an oscilloscope to get the frequencies right and a Multimeter to null the coils. I can buy a Multimeter for 10 bucks i'm sure, but not an oscilloscope. Way too pricey.

Lacking the correct equipment, the only thing you may have problems with is setting the Discrimination Phase.

Ask you local radioshack as to whom would have the equipment. Call them and work something out. Or call the local schools and talk to a teacher that has the equipment. I dont konw if that would work, but having been a construction company owner and manager both, I had to rent, borrow, buy or beg for ALOT of equipment over the years for specialty work. I bet any amount of money there is a electronics geek within 10-20 miles of you with the equipment that would take a barter using your skills and tools for his. One mans trash is another mans treasure, before you talk to him have some things of yours in mind for trade (work for barter, items to trade, etc..)

Haa, i like that last part "pole vaulting over mouse turds." I have oil changing and typical automotive maintenance experience! maybe i could trade that for the use of an oscillator. or just buy it all together with that labor. who knows.

I thought i saw on Silverdog's website some sort of device that's cheaply priced. but it was 10 bucks too much. hahaha... I'm thinkin gabout just waiting til i have the money and buy one from Tesoro's coil's page and hook it up. I don't want to have a crappy coil that doesn't go as far or as well as it could due to newby skills. After a while i will have a hand at it, for the pure pleasure of building one. But i gotta be practical.

Also, has anyone ever told you you look like Stevie Ray Vaughan vision? You play guitar?

HUH? thats a first, but people (especially in stores) say I look like Jeff Bridges, I see little resemblence but hair color and big nose though. BTW.....I never wear that hat, I had some pics taken with it because my GF talked me into it and everyone liked them, so I use that pic alot. That hat is cool though, I had the local leather guy make that for me and had him put 5 indian head  nickles on the band for me. I found a die in the garage as a kid and smacked about 30 indian heads with it to make them button shaped. That was over 30 years ago, kinda wish I had the nickles  now. I cant read the dates since the smackdown, but I'm sure I didnt even look to see the mintages lol.
