Hey guys,

I recently got my ten inch BH coil and tested it in my yard.  The  test area has been hunted out big time by myself with my two units and I am sure that I will be able to tell the difference in performance of the 8 in and 10 in coils.

So far all I can say is that the ten incher really is effected more by nearby metal targets as opposed to smaller coils but that is just repeating what others have already told me anyway.  I can see myself using it to scout new sites for hot spots or what not but unless I can prove to myself that it has a depth advantage I don't see myself using it for anything more than covering ground more quickly.

The extra weight does not bother me in the least.  I will post a more comprehensive review of the differences between all three of my BH coils when I confident that I have learned all of the 10 incher's nuances.

Now on to my question,  my BH has really never given me any "ghost" targets that were not caused by other nearby targets.  I want to increase my sensitivity because I have always maxed out my fine tune "sens" nob and never caught any ground interference.  Perhaps other areas in the country need to bring down their's due to the difference in soils but not me.  I would like to increase the rough sensitivity of the unit but have not yet found the proper coarse tune pcb pot.

I have already opened up the unit to add an in line volume pot and found a few pcb pots but the are not labelled   (duh).

My other MD has it's sens so high that it will show a max target when just hitting the darned ground.  I can only imagine that since I can never get the BH to show anything when hitting the ground that I might have some room to increase my sensitivity.

First, does anyone here know which pots do what?  I also want to see about turning my output up just a hair to see if I can get any deeper without stressing my unit.  I am not worried about burning thru batteries as I have already modified my power source to last much much longer anyway.

Secondly, if nobody knows the details of the 505's pcb pots, then perhaps a more experienced engineer type could tell me where to look for the coarse tune sensitivity pcb pot.  I imagine that I can trace the fine tune sensitivity nob to the sens circuit?  Feel free to get detailed.

I have an o-scope and other tools at my disposal.  Any help here will be appreciated.  I am very very hesitant to do anything at all until I am confident that I won't screw up my favorite detector.  The 505 will be the perfect MD for my little girl when I upgrade it to a better unit.

Also, my all-metal mode is not working ( not like I ever use it).  I will be calling to see about warranty but that might be over with.  I wonder if any BH owners have any insight into this.  I haven't even checked the button so I am definitely just starting to look at that.

Thank you all very much in advance for any insights.
