Hello JDL,

the search coil will likely no wrk on your Troy as the Troy and XLT have different search frequencies and also different connectors. Besides the Bluemax Coil isn't even recommended for useage with the XLT either. It is much heavier than its standard coil but doesn't offer increased depth.

Regards,

Christian

If you have a very good oscilloscope , inductance meter , signal generator , DVM . And a shelf full of many types of wire in large spools , very good assortment of capacitors , and the recommended glue , shielding or graphite if necessay for the final setting of your searchcoil . You could tear apart the blue max coil and reconfigure the coil windings and everything inside , to work on the Tesoro/Troy Shadow X5 . And all the above test equipment and parts is also "necessary" for any Whites or Minelab Searchcoils .
