Hello all, I am wanting to try some beach and water detecting, I have a Whites Surfmaster 2 I would like to do the "Bill mods"  on. I was wondering if any ground diggers out there have the information or instructions needed for this undertaking, I know I can do the work, I just need to know just what I need and where they need to be done. I have a Whites pi pro and whites 300 id on the way but it is cold in the water right now and I would like to beef up the surfmaster 2 for my wife. We are located in the Pensacola area on the Gulf of Mexico, any help will be welcomed,   Russell

Go to Bill's web site and ask him for the mod instructions.

To be honest, you'd be crazy to try it without a dual trace oscilloscope, a frequency meter and a digital volt meter. I'd also recommend a lot of electronics experience. Assuming you have those, Bill might be a nice guy and tell you what his mod consists of.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
