I was searching in a local campground a couple of years ago when i found a crushed top of a Carbide Mining Light used back in the earlier days of Coal Mining. The lights are made with brass and I first thought it was something better the way my Bounty Hunter was chirping.
Anyway after I had examined it I put it in my finds' Pouch and went on about my searching.
About 6 mths ago I bought 3 old Carbide lights to repair and resell. well one of the Lights needed a stopper lid for the tank that holds the water. Finding parts for these lights is almost impossible. Then I thought about the old piece of the Light I had found on the camp ground. when I checked it out The lamps were not only the same type but they were made
around the same date also. The stopperwas the only part that was not bent at all, and it had the about the same patina coloring also. A PERFECT MATCH !!! Like I said before nothing you find is juck.... Ted
