Heres some past finds over the years i just dug out to look at, the locket was found in an old school yard it has 2 colored stones with gold trim around it, it came out of the ground at 4" deep and there was no pic. in it but the gold was not tarnished , i believe it is gold trimed. If anyone knows about the stones or meaning of them let me know. Thanks and happy Huntin...DW

Nice finds, DW.   I especially like the locket.   I think the darker stone is carnelian, a semi-precious stone.  Carnelian was really popular in older jewelry, which this also looks to be.

Dan, Nice locket. I'm curious about the right hand stone. Not a tigers-eye. the red resembles some agate ring stones I have seen. What is your guess?
