They remind me very much of Vernal style petroglyphs. And head hunters! Note one or two are holding the cut off heads of their enemies.  Not much is written about the head hunting and cannibalism that went on. I recall reading of a grave item found,  the skin of a head colored and sewn somewhat like a bag, placed in a girls grave.
