These are some pictures of Fremont Indian pictograps and petroglyphs combined....i haven't found many of these around where I'm at.  Usually it's either one or the other...either pictographs....or petroglyphs, but these are a mix where the two can be seen together in the same work.

Sweet! I really like the artists - bodies have great proportion and they could certainly draw what looks, to me, perfect circles. Enjoyed their artwork & your pictures. Thanks! Sue

Great pics. Are there any good spots to take kids and see some good petroglyphs?  We've seen some in the tourist spots, but, it would be nice to see some off the beaten path.  The kids are great hikers (and runners a couple of times) so I don't mind hiking in up to 5-6 miles, but I hate getting chased off (when they're with me) if the spot isn't kosher to visit.  I'm traveling all over the US so sites anywhere would be nice to hear about.  Good website links are much appreciated too. Thanks.

There are a lot of good spots off the beaten path.  I don't currently have the GPS coordinates to any but I find that one of the best resources for me is google earth.  I find an area I'm interested in and scan across the ground until it has the little blue box that someone has put there to show a picture of the area.  If there is more than one box from two seperate people, it is a sure bet that the pictographs or petroglyphs are in that general are and that the GPS coordinates are fairly accurate.  Southern Utah is full of them, and then next place to take a week and visit is Mesa Verde in Colorado.  I hopes this helps a little, I'll post some findings as I get them

toleary34 your first pic is very intriguing.  Makes me think the artist is trying to tell us about a Sun Burst that occurred way back when.  The red phallic symbol would represent power.  The red half circle the Sun.  The rest is kind of a star chart or time report.  Of course I just get a hunch about this pic...that's all.  The last pic is of a man without a head.  Usually a pic of this kind with a head meant no village around these parts, but a man without a head is interesting.  Usually a man upside down meant death. Could it mean the Sun Burst killed the people that could not take cover underground?  Again I am just guessing.  The old ones had secrets to tell us huh?
