Hi, Im also new here and new to metal detecting. I just recently purchased a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505, and have had it out a few times this week. I have dug a lot of trash, but also havnt come home coinless yet!!! Always seem to scratch out a buck or so worth of clad so I guess Im doing something right... Well, just wanted to say hello!!! Hey, Bill......clad keeps you in batteries. Welcome to THunting.com.

You'll find the more you use your detector, the more you'll understand it. You'll also find yourself hunting with your head more rather than just swinging the detector. When that happens, you'll have more consistent results.

By the way, what part of NC are you in? I use to spend some time down around Lenoir.
