My name is John and I am in Middle Tennessee in Clarksville. I am very much a history guy and so I am in the right place. I have a White's MXT that I love but can't get out very often because of the hours that I work. FAIR WARNING! If you haven't read it, do a Google search for the ARPA or Archeological Resources Protection Act. Folks, I learned the hard way YOU CANNOT METAL DETECT OR DIG ON ANY PUBLIC LANDS! And, unfortunately, this includes Military Installations. That having been said, in Indiana (where I am originally from) at a  National Guard training installation there was a POW camp during WWII. A large portion of that training installation was turned over to the state and then to the county that it is in. Guess what? The county's portion you CAN metal detect on. My favorite find was a WWII German ID Tag. I have a few others but that is my favorite.
