We had a major rain storm last night and at times today.  I went to Waikiki from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Even while wearing a wet suit, I got cold and very wet. No gold but I did get three silver dimes and a very thin buffalo nickel.  The run off from a hotel roof washed a channel at least 2 1/2 feet deep and around 4 feet wide in one part of Waikiki beach.  I was digging another 6 to 15 inches more to get the old coins with my Aquastar.

I was station in Germany from January 1955 to June 1957.  I would like to go back some time during the summer months.

Hi Sue,

Here is a short history of my detecting.  I started metal detecting in San Jose, California around 1970 in schools and parks for coins.  Later on, I got more interested in finding gold jewelry in the schools and parks.  Then got into beach hunting at Santa Cruz, California.  Then got interested in looking for gold nuggets in the Mother Lode.  Here is a link to my best gold find!

I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1998 for the warm weather and to be able to go beach hunting when ever I feel like it.  As always, I continue to learn more things about detecting and different equipment.

Aloha
