Hi alan - currently i've just got a homebuilt metal detector that uses an LED to alert me. i drag it on a sled in the water, with a waterproof camera mounted and transmitting up the steel pull wire. primarily i hunt for bits of boat - you'de be surpised at the number of sailboats and motorboats sunk in dams here. besides that, i'm about 25% of the way with my ROV, witch will incorporate my detector and have grippers so i can salvage stuff from more that 20m. currently wondering about salvaging whole boats instead of bits of them - although it's amazing what you find!

My My My Bishop you are into t/hunting in a big way with your R.O.V. who knows one day you might be able to raise a wreck or two theres plenty lost in Davey Joneses locker hehehe good luck to you. My diving days are over but had a lot of fun using an underwater dredge off the end of piers hehe people can loose anything once they dive off the end of them and the rewards can be great too.
Good luck in your ventures.

Hi Bishop.  Welcome to THunting.  I've read your other posts with interest.  Sounds like you do some interesting hunting.   You definitely will uncover items that we landlubbers will likely never see.

Hi Bishop

I guess that I must have read your second post before I read the first one  Grin that?s why I asked if you were from Durban any how I wanted to tell you that I am also into diving and have been planning to build a ROV of my own for some time now it would be nice if we could exchange some idea?s on under water detecting and techniques of building a ROV.

Regards Xavier
