Hi everyone, my name is Gene. I've had a Radio Shack detector for several years and have used it sporadically. I'm looking for at least one more detector to help get my kids involved too. I was thinking about an Ace 250 or 350 and maybe a Garrett GTI 1500. If anyone has any positive or negative thoughts on these it would be greatly appreciated. Now that my kids are getting older, I hope to taking advantage of my time off from the fire station to spend some quality time with them. I'm looking forward to some great advice and words of wisdom from all the forum users. Thanks.

If you like the Radio Shack detector, the ACE would be about 200 steps up.
