New to prospecting but very serious about it. Spent a week in Alaska this summer learning how to pan, read the river for mineral deposits, the use of a side banker and trommel. I live in Sterling, VA and looking for a group/club that is involved in gold prospecting in the NOVA area/Loudoun County.

Yup, I am a member. Seems there is not GPAA charters in the state of Virginia.

Seems either Virginia has some odd recreational mining laws or do not care for any GPAA member cause have not seen any listed in the GPAA directory. Kind of weird since prior to the Civil War and gold rush, VA was one of the main gold producing states in the union.

Much appreciated.

Howdy, and Welcome from Utah! You may also want to put in a quick post on the Virginia discussion thread and see if there's any interest in that section too.
