I'VE USED MANY BRANDS AND MODELS-TESORO, WHITES,GARRETT,FISHER,NAUTILUS,D-TEX,WILSON NEUMAN,ETC.

WELCOME... Good luck in your hunting--Austin sounds like good detecting area...lots of history in Texas.

I've got kin in Conroe and Wyllis, TX...There ought to be some serious detecting that could be done in your area. Pray

Howdy Troy,

There are a couple of members of the forum from the "general" Austin area. I'm sure one of them will chime in before to long. (I've got family in the San Antonio, Austin, Llano area but none of them have taken up the hobby yet).
In the meantime, you might also want to check into one of the Metal Detecting clubs in the Austin area. Here is the url for one of the clubs (Austin Metal Detecting Club)

I know that the club my wife and I joined in Phoenix has been a good thing for our learning curve (as well as opening up places we might not have known about).
