I would try asking permission first before i would ever bring up the subject of a lease.
to me if your going to lease / claim etc, it's more for gold and silver mines etc.
just my opinion.

Kurtis, in some places your kind of digging first and asking permission later will cost you your detector. Yes, officials sometimes confiscate them in parks where they are off limits. Your cute little "too much paperwork" idea is just one of the silliest notions ever. You're lucky you didn't get called out in a worse way for that. These guys were being gentle.

I don't know about you guys, but its been fricken cold in the TX panhandle. I've had too much time to post and not enough time to hunt and dig. Maybe when there's better weather I won't have time to cause any problems! Lets get back in the fields Kurtis!
