I knew I'd end up here some day. Treasure hunting is just not a solitary kinda sport, most of the time. I'm probably openning up a big can of worms here but, I'm curious to get some opinions from people about the brands and models of metal detectors you are using and how happy you are with them.
I'm new to metal detecting and bought my first detector a few months ago on a referral from a friend. It's a Whites Prizm 6t and I'd have to say that for a first detector, I sure can't complain. It works good for what I'm doing with it but, so far I haven't found a treasure chest yet either. I need more practice and more knowledge of the hobby. I am aware of some of the other more expensive detectors out there like the MineLab units, but my wallet wont spit out that kinda money just yet. I'd still like to hear from anyone regardless of the brand or how expensive it is.

Thanks

Hello, slobberknoggen ( a greeting I hope to use frequently  Smiley ).    Welcome to THunting.com.   You've come to the right place to ask that question.  To get started, I'd suggest you use the Advanced Search function at the top of the page.  Enter "best detector" into the search box, and then search the ENTIRE forum.   You'll find a wealth of opinions (and some good reasoning for most of them).
