Violent  I have an older detector and I can not get any hits on it.  Everything seems to be in working order the circuit boards have no rust or anything and the head is in good shape.  Any suggestions, I have tried all the adjustments nothing will help.  It turns on fine and makes a constant buzzing noise and the adjustments seem to work properly but it will not find any metal when testing no beeps at all!  Frustrated!!

Sounds like my detector. I have a Gold Bug II that does pretty much the same thing. I determined it was in the coil. Your options are tear the coil apart and fix it, or buy a new coil. More information on your detector is needed.

Cheers

Sean

chupacabre, welcome to THunting.com.

If you'd like some suggestions on what you might try, it would help if you could either tell us the make and model or at least post a couple of really clear pictures of the detector.   We've got some very good technical people here, but they probably need more info unless you want to be more frustrated by chasing wild guess suggestions.
