        I got a wild hair,bought some used Bounty Hunter detectors-- a Prospector and a Quickdraw 11.  Here I am in the Baja California give it my best effort for gold nuggets I guess.  Surely most people would call me nuts but I just retired with a little social security pension and figure to try my luck to have something rather than just eek by.
         Do you have any advice for someone "just off the train". it will be appreciated.  My knowledge in this metal detecting-treasure hunting game is nothing but I think these machines do not sense deep enough.   Reluctant and unable to spend much money and wandering what machine to obtain and the least costly way to obtain it.  Also if it is possible to build something like a large ---4-6-8 ft wide detector to take wide non discriminating sweeps before focusing on hits with discrimination.  I think in the desert areas almost any "hit" should be checked.
         Reply if you are inclined to and have a bit of time.

Well unless you're looking for a 20kg nugget your large coil ain't gonna help you much mind you, you might just have the beginners luck and find one LOL Any how there would be a lot of rich folks out there if you could use a large coil to find small nuggets so there will only be one way and thats the hard way but look at the bright side of it you will remain fit AND you will find some gold too if you're looking in the right place. You should look for a second hand detector but get one that was designed for nugget hunting.
