Welcome,I 'm not sure what you mean the best,if you mean the best the money can buy,than a Minelab GPX would be one of the best,but as value for money I don't know if it is suitable ,there have limits in going in park and beaches,old buildings ,specially around powerlines you are in for problems.But if you stay in field far from civilisation looking for gold nuggets ,than if money is no problem that would be your best bet.If you dint want spend that much ,TDI pro is your next ,and as a allrounder Spectra V3i is the best detector in VLF range for what you intend to do.Good luck with any detector,if you learn the detector well than,you be supprice what you can do with any of them.I use Spectra and hunt in gold field as well,and have not much trouble with it,but Pulse detector is better suitable for gold field which is true,but VLF can still do well as each ground is different specially old ones.
