Hi All,

My name is Bob. I live on Long Island NY., Southampton which is located on the east end. We were settled in 1640. Lots of interesting coins have been found in the farm fields out here. Back to detecting again. I use to detect 15 years ago off and on. Now the concept of detecting farm fields is a whole new revelation for me! I have found coins from the 1800's and even a musket ball.
Friends of mine have found Spanish coins out here.

I have a son who lives in Brooklyn.  I guess I'm going to have to plan a trip in the spring.

Welcome from New Mexico.

Farm fields can be productive for sure.

Most folks don't realize they have not always been farms.

Some had towns and settlements on them way back when.

Battles fought and Battles won.

You just never know.

Hi Bob and welcome! I agree with Homefire as part of detecting is imagining how places used to be not how they are today and searching accordingly. You have nice old areas to hunt - good luck and hope to read more about your detecting adventures. Sue
