This post might come out of left field but here I go . The favor needed is , well let me explain , I think I'm ready to graduate from pennies to more interesting finds . So I was wondering if one of the more experienced hunters would do me this favor and go to Wikipedia and type in Eaton Canyon ( Pasadena CA ) and please tell me if this is a place you would search ? Where would I start  ? and what can I find ?  Pray Great.......this is what I call using my resources

It all depends upon whether there are any restrictions to metal detecting on any portion of it.   Since at least some of it appears to be park or preserve land, there might be.   If there aren't restrictions, then yes, I'd probably hunt along the toll road (especially if I could figure out where the toll gates and most frequent rest stops were).

Hello Cali. I did a Google search of Eaton Canyon and saw a lot of interesting places to hunt within a short driving distance. The Sierra Madre Dam looks interesting. Go to the "Hunting by location" thread and click on the CA sub-board. You will find a lot of leads there.

Starting from this point:
1) select Home from the menu bar
2) scroll down past the recent topics
3) keep scrolling past "Our Community"......past "Find Boards".....past "Metal Detecting"......past "Treasure Hunting".....
4) keep going past "Research and Techniques"......past "Tech Talk".....past "Long Range".....even past "Prospecting & Minerals"......
5) keep going past "The Marketplace".....past "Collector's Corner".....past "Historic Places"....(tired yet?)....past "History"....
6) keep going past "Planet Treasure".....
7) ......FINALLY, you're at "General Discussion - By Location".   You'll want to choose the "California" Sub Board from the USA section.  Then pick a topic that looks good (or start one yourself).

Hope that helps.

BA
