Hello all. Im a new booty to treasure hunting and would appreciate any feedback for you all. I'm looking forward to visiting battle fields and various geological sites this summer with my two sons.

I just purchased a Treasure Hunter 3030, my first ever metal detector. I know it's not top of the line, but I figured it was a decent starting point.

Where are some good areas to go in NC? I dont mind being around others, but also wouldnt mine venturing off the beaten path.

Have you hunted the old ballpark there in Mooresville?   I understand you had a professional minor league team there from 1937 to 1954.   From a mineral (gold, emeralds, etc) standpoint you've got a wealth of possibilities just west of you.   There are several resources on the web.   Here is one

Hello 4maynards. Welcome. I am a newbee from SE  NC. Wilmington.I have been working the
beach here and dirt digging also. I started out with the ACE250. So far it has been great.
 I also use a Cen-tech pp. Cheap (16.99) and it is a life savor in the dirt. Down here we have
Fort Fisher and Moores Creek pretty close. Of course  u can not detect on them. But there is plenty
more areas u can hit. Ever this way give me a hey.Garyz[detecting]
