I work for our Goverment and they needed me to check property lines out in the country so I offered to use my oun detector. They gladly let me use my own. I found 8 Wheat pennies Year range from 1920s to 1941, 1921 mercury dime, 3 silver quarters 2-1936s 1-1934, a lot of trash. All the coins were in good shape. This was in central Illinois.

Hi & welcome. That's pretty neat - you're looking in a nice old place. Hmm, maybe you should go back and "double check" those property lines and see what else you find.  Smiley

Welcome from Minnesota.  The land of ice & snow which become 10,000 lakes if we get summer.  Huh?

I wish I had a job.  I wish I had a job where they paid me to MD and let me keep what I have found.   Very few things could be sweeter then that.   Clapp

Create one for yourself. Underground pipe and cable locating services are a viable business. Some of them do contract work for telephone companies, water companies, electric utility companies and construction preparation. You'll probably need a good two box unit like the M-Scope to do it properly and then after you get some income flowing, you'll want a second machine as a backup or extension of the first one when using inductive searches. There are stimulus packages in the US for starting just such a business. You should look into it.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
