Hi Dinger - not from Calif, but thought I'd welcome you just the same. I'd like to have long weekends for detecting adventures. What have you mainly been looking for? Sue

Dinger Welcome from Galveston Island.

I don't know of a club in the area but sure there is one.

Mostly coins, but anything metal, just the excitement of finding something lost. The history is important to find out where it came from and if there is an owner to search out and return.

Dinger, understand the excitement of finding the unknowns. Yes you become a historian, researcher, etc - regular jack of all trades once you start detecting. And a collector  Smiley Again, welcome aboard! Sue
