I have been metal detecting with a White's DFX as a hobby for about three years. I concentrate hunting old homesites and fields. My best find to date is a 14K ring. I found it the first year I owned my detector and handed it to my wife without taking too close a look at it because it appeared to be a piece of kids play jewelry. I rediscovered it today in one of my wife's jewelry boxes and thought - my word this thing cleaned up nicely. I peered inside the band and saw the 14K stamp. It was fun finding this ring twice.
