No mater what machine you get you still have to learn how to use it, i have hunted with friends with the newer machines and i out do them all the time with my XLT. Theres some many options and custom programs that you can set up its never ending. You have silent search mode, tone ID, VDI # ID, signa graph ID, mixed mode audio(this is all metal and disc. mode combined), there are many books on this machine and you can visit the Coinist web site for even more custom programs. For an old machine it still rocks the new ones..... Good luck .... DW
