Hi, I'm new to this Hobby and I am looking to make my first Detector, has anyone any construction details for a good detector, I dont mind if it is fairly difficult to build as long as it is good performance. Thank you.

Hello, chrisallse.

I moved your post from Beginners to New User Introduction so the other members can say hello to you (and possibly give you some advise).
My advise is to go to our home page and then scroll down the list of boards until you find the section called "Tech Talk".  There you will find two boards, "Metal Detectors" and "Modifications, Do It Yourself & Repairs".  You'll spend a lot of time on those boards and get to know the members that hang out there very well.
One bit of warning, to access the schematics in the download section, you'll need to be a full member.    Despair not.  It won't take you long to get 25 posts, especially if you get into those discussion boards that interest you and start asking questions.

Good luck,

BA in Arizona

Yes, Premade coils can be used.  Coils must be mached to the Machine  .    PI coils can be simple home versions even 2 coil set ups.

The TGSL is set up for a DD coil.   Based on the Tesoro Golden Sabre, it could us the same.
