I'm used to east coast weather when metal detecting.  At 112 deg Devil it's a little rough out here.  I've been here 6 years now and just got a replacement for my Explorer that was taken from my truck.  Went out to a playground and could only stand it 30 minutes.  I have a gold detector too so I may give it a try over at Quartzite.  Anyway...Hi Yall Hello

Hello RedWinger and  Welcome to our Forum . In Arizona or Southern Nevada the Winter months are beautiful for Metal Detecting !! Right now Southern Nevada is about 5 to 7 degrees cooler than you are in Arizona , but still dry and kinda hot here right now . When I Metal Detect [only a few times a month right now] I go out at about 6:00 am in the morning till about 9:00 or 10:00 am and Quit !!! You should go out early in the day if you can . I am in Summerlin , Nevada a community west of Las Vegas . Glad you have joined our Forum .

HH..........Eugene

Hey RedWinger....welcome from the Valley of the Sun.   This time of the year is "hibernation" time here in Arizona.  But we more than make up for it in the late fall through early spring when everyone else in the country is snowed in and having to chip through frozen earth the few times they make it out with their detectors.

Quartzite would be quiet Toasty about now.

 Wise

I lived in Tucson for 13 year until 1979.

If you couldn't get it done by 8:00 or 9:00, it did not get done.
