Minelab Safari, Fisher Goldbug

Hi everyone. I'm from MD (the state, not the hobby) and am pretty new to this whole thing. I'm actually not too far from DC. As the username points out, I collect old beer cans and that's what brought me to get my 1st detector - the original Fisher Gold Bug. Great machine for that purpose.

Well I'm friends with a guy at church who is really into detecting and we went out hunting one day. Didn't find much, but came home with a few coins and a desire to find more. Ordered myself a Minelab Safari and I'm now in the learning process. I picked up Andy's book on it which is great, but I know that learning to be able to really understand the thing is just going to take a lot of hours of use. I hope to score some silver with it! Still waiting for that.

This seems like THE place to be for everything detecting-related, so that's why I registered. Thanks!

Beercanman

I sure would like to dig some silver coins. Until then, I guess I'll be happy digging 1930s beer cans!

Thanks for the welcome. Mudflap-yes, I'm very familiar with the Olde Frothingslosh cans. Pittsburgh Brewing Co product. The tough one to get is the Sir Lady Frothinglosh from 1955.

Happy hunting!

Welcome from Arizona.....if it's hidden somewhere and is either interesting or valuable, you'll find someone here writing about it.
