Hi : I just found this forum through another link. Very interesting website. I have been interested in the earth sciences and "treasure hunting" since I was a little kid. Spent about 8 years out West electronic prospecting for gold nuggets and other esoteric things. Met some very interesting people during my travels. Am currently planning another long journey.

I'm glad that you could finally register Wink

It's good to have such an expirienced prospector aboard. Maybe you can teach some tricks on how to search for natural gold.

Eventhoigh Bavaria has only little natural gold in its rivers there is some being washed down from the mountains all the time.

It's kind of a coincidence but I met a young couple from Germany a few years ago by the name of Tomas (or Thomas) and Anke. They were both feed up with life in Germany, came over here and started to learn how to prospect. Taught them quite a bit but haven't seen them in a long time. Last I heard they were trying to become citizens here but because of immigration quotas- they were denied. Instead they took up residence in Canada and I lost track of them. Really nice couple. Hello Steve,

our neighbours also had lived in Candada for over 20 years. Canada is still a very popular country for German who want to move abroad but I've heared that the immigration quota has become a bit tougher.

I think the cost of living in Germany is probably about the same as in Canada but as we are very densly populated, homes are very expensive here. If you are looking into a house in a suburb of a bigger city it will cost you USD 350k and up ...

I think the reason Thomas and Anke went to Canada is because they had no choice. Their visa was about to expire and that's the only reason. Last I heard- they moved to Vancouver but probably spend most of the time in the USA.
