Go Up Go Down

Hi from British Columbia, Canada. My experience, geocaching with my kids that's it. I find this site very informative when it comes to THing and metal detecting. Also,  I read the book Gold Warrior and found a lot of interesting stuff that I heard about when I was a kid. I though maybe I can take it to the next level and get myself a good metal detector. Try out the local beach area and abandoned mine in BC. When I go back to the Philippines for a vacation, I know a few site in my hometown where the I could try out. Such as old churches where the Japanese Army us it a their base of operation. Old neighbours that has a century old spanish house, I remembered when I was a kid we found some old spanish coin and bayonet in the area. I'm not going to dig a deep hole or finance a dig. For me, it's just the thrill of the find. And if there's gold much better.
Thanks..

Hello bolero.   Welcome from Arizona.   You'll probably have much better results looking for those little Spanish treasures than you would if you got sucked into the Yamamoto craze.  Less competition and more chances of success.

Thanks for the welcome. That's the legend we kept on hearing when I was growing up as a kid over there in the Philippines. One of my cousin was hire by a Japanese man with a map to look for a treasure in the northern part of the Philippine, they abandoned the search because of communist rebel activities in the area, this happened in the early 80's.  So many stories, fake gold bar and scammers.  I'll keep an open mind  but not my wallet. Just like looking for a coin in the beach, who knows I might stumble on something big. I can also continue buying lotto tickets.
