Hi Everyone,

Newbie here to the board.  I am a bit of a newbie of detecting too.

Live in Eastern Indiana - anyone else around here into metal detecting?  Being new makes it hard to find places to detect.  Would love to hear what others have had luck with :Smiley

Thanks
Deb

Welcome Deb from CT.  First..... you tune in the farm show on WOWO about 4AM then after breakfast head out to some of the local parks for a start.      Just kidding....
Enjoy the board and your new found hobby.

Jim

Welcome from New Mexico!       Give me your town and I will find schools, Parks, other places to look.

Your going to have to gOOgle to find your laws .  City, County, State, and others.

Here in New Mexico, Schools are cool if not locked gate.

State Parks are a NO NO unless you ask the Gate Keeper and get the go ahead IN WRITING!

ToT Lots in parks are productive, you would be surprised what little kids loose some times.

Let the HUNT BEGEN!

Hello, Deb.

Welcome from Arizona.   So how has the hunting been going in the week or two since you signed up?   Have any of the tips these guys given you helped out any?   You'll find many more in the posts on our Beginners board...... By the way, hunting your own yard and the yards of family and friends who will give you permission is really under-rated by most beginners (including yours truly when I started)......but it's amazing what a lot of our members have found in their own back yard.   Besides detecting there let's you practice techniques such as "earth/hobby-friendly" recovery methods without having people bug you or look at you like you just fell off a haywagon.
