Hello all.

Most deffinately gold is where its at, Welcom and good luck. Ive got family from Ottawa used to go there all the time until my last great great aunt passed away last year at 101. Caught the largest bass ever on Lake Saint Perierre up your way. The thing was so huge I let it go, took me 45 min to land it, caught it on a full moon with a jitterbug. Hooked it the night before but it broke my line and had to drive all over the place the next day to find a jitterbug to buy. Finally found a place 5min before closing bought the only 2 they had and that night took the paddle boat out where he hit the night before turned my drag off this time and first cast, WHAM, came clean out of the water and slammed it, pulled me around the bay jumping and water walking. 45 minutes later we were both worn out not sure which one of us was more tired but I dragged him up to shore and was shocked.
The bass was a massive 38 inches, I took pics and then set him free so someone else could experience what I had just done. A few years later i heard some little 7 year old boy  caught the bass again or his brother and almost got dragged into the water his dad had to grab a hold of him he was going in...lol  Best summer days fishing of my life were spent on that lake, we caught so many fish and the Jumbo perch were incredible the smallest one was 18 inches. You just dont catch those size fish down here, too many people have over fished everything keeping anything they catch its terrible.

Thank you, yes it was one of the most memorable times of my life, everyone else wanted to eat the fish especially my great great uncle he was a bit upset when I let the fish go. Funny thing is that when I put the bass back in the water he turned and watched us for about 5 min before he slowly turned and swam away.
