A bit about me.....no yawning please.....I'm almost 66 and retiring in November. I retired from the US Navy as a Chief Boatswain's Mate in 1986 & have been working for a defense contractor ever since (several, in fact)....married, 3 sons, 5 grandkids & 1 gt. grandson.
I got my first detector in 1968. It was a White's Coinmaster 1 BFO. It had a coil made of plywood & a battery that must have weighed 2 pounds, but I found a lot of goodies with it before the hobby got really strong in the '70s. I've detected all over the US (mainly in the southeast), Europe, the Caribbean and Bermuda. I have been away from the hobby for about 4 years, but recently bought a Fisher F70 with the 10" & 11"DD coil. Spending a lot of time catching up on the technology and enjoying reading the forums.....waiting for cooler weather, as that is when I do much of my detecting - less heat, bugs, snakes and tourists. Thanks for having me here. Butch
